PAD THEIR FEET INITIATIVE
changing lives…..a pair of feet at a time
In the past 8 years. Pad Their Feet Initiative has been involved in the collection and distribution of over 10,000 used and new shoes to school-age children and some adults.
Up until now, social media and word-of-mouth have been the basic channels for soliciting support from contributors. Shoes are donated by family and friends, subsequently distributed through schools and community organizations.
The passion that started as a spark is fast becoming a fire; it is humbling to see the ripple effect this little gesture has made in the lives of the vulnerable children. And so to make appreciable impact and touch more lives for greater impact in this lifetime, we have re-engineered, enlarged and registered the company as a nonprofit and extended the scope to include collaborations with the public and private sectors of the economy and from international donor organizations. It is on the shoulder of that, we started a campaign on comfundme.com to raise N5, 000, 000 (Five Million Naira Only) to keep the hope of thousands of indigent children allover Nigeria alive even with as little as with shoes and school kits.
So far we are in collaboration with Because International owners of THE SHOE THAT GROWS in the US. ‘The Shoe that Grows’ uses adjustable buckles and a strap on the toe to expand by five sizes In addition to some pairs donated, they are willing to provide new shoes from their stock at a subsidized rate.
Other partners include C6 Church, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA and Sisters Lifting Hands Fellowship, Lagos, Nigeria.
